If you like art and art in the making then you may enjoy this video. My video is the process of a 18x24” charcoal drawing sped up from five hours to five minutes. The illustration is of the musician known as Macklemore. For those of you that don’t know, Macklemore is a Seattle bred underground hip-hop artist who speaks about the universal language between art and music. His edge and political standpoints in such songs as “Bush Song” and “American” show a different more humorous side he is known for. In the end, the north-west rapper was more than flattered to be the subject, and his producer was pleased to throw a huge shout out on Facebook for recognition.

Vince, the creator of the Sham Wow also made a product called the Slap Chop and advertised it on TV.  Steve Porter, a well-known DJ, chopped up the audio and video from the commercial and made his own song. The catchy “Rap Chop” video soared to over 1,000,000 views in the first week and is now working it’s way to 3,000,000. With a YouTube rating of five stars and almost 30,000 rates.

DJ Steve Porter made a tour stop at Milwaukee’s [Three] Lounge on the 6^th. The crowd was full of energy as this was one of the biggest names performing at [Three]. Vince’s face was included with some of the interactive video projections, along with an occasional line or two from the famous remix. Unfortunately the full version was never played. Oh well…next stop for Steve, London.

The Hollywood studios have become masters of successful marketing. Even in a bad economic environment, they create extensive campaigns that reach prospective customers in almost every facet of their lives. (And most importantly, they get those people into the theater.) By looking at what those studios do that works, you can find marketing lessons to apply when you want to turn your product or service into a blockbuster.
